Doors Open Day is co-ordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust. It runs throughout Scotland every September as part of European Heritage Days, and aims to give people the chance to see insude some of the country’s most interesting buildings, many of which are not normally accessible to the public.
This is your chance to visit a wide range of buildings in the Highlands – all with free entry on their Doors Open Day dates – and to discover their fascinating stories. Why not have a look through the brochure (see link above) to plan a day out with a difference this September
Doors Open Day in the Highlands starts on 03 September 2016. Happy exploring!
Also on Saturday 03 September (10-3.30) you can celebrate the Festival of Architecture 2016 in Inverness with a free artist led sketching event organised by the Inverness Architectural Association. Discover hidden architectural gems of Inverness and capture them on a sketching guided walk. All abilities welcome, bring your preferred materials. Starts and ends at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. Book your place (free) at Kirsten.Body@highlifehighland.com or 01463 237114.
